IDEP Network

Four primary tiers of delegation.

One week after the launch of the IDEP Network’s main-net Antora, the IDEP Foundation will select a set of validators to delegate its tokens to. The foundation would like to support validators that contribute to the network and participate in governance. We understand that the first round of bondings will be done without much information regarding the validators’ involvement in the network; we will try to base our assessments on external factors such as validators’ prior contributions to other networks and Cosmos validator reputation as a whole. We understand this process is not perfect, but as certain validators drop off and others stand out as pillars of the community, we will quickly get a sense of who is the most deserving of a delegation.

IDEP Foundations delegation criteria

Four primary tiers of delegation:

  • Tier 1 (700,000 IDEPs): Outstanding IDEP Network contributors and strategic partners.
  • Tier 2 (500,000 IDEPs): Validators that have made meaningful contributions and also require economic support and help to build a brand.
  • Tier 3 (250,000 IDEPs): Validators that have made meaningful contributions to the network.
  • Tier 4 (100,000 IDEPs): Base amount delegated to validators that have some contribution to the network.

What constitutes a meaningful contribution?

Including but not limited to:

  • Community involvement and building.
  • Pull requests.
  • Bug fixes.
  • Infrastructure projects such as analytics and block explorers.
  • Applications.
  • Tutorials.
  • Documentation.

How it will be calculated:

The IDEP foundation will not be revealing how assessments will be made specifically. What can be said is that great care will be taken to create an even distribution of tokens among the validators to prevent all the tokens from pooling at the top of the validator list.

The first round of delegations will happen roughly one week after IDEP Network’s Main-net Antora is live. Although delegations will be re-evaluated yearly to best reflect the changing climate of the most relevant validators, we plan to re-delegate the initial bonding after six months.
